DS Seekrit Santa

I have stuff to post about and recs to make, but first I will tell you that my story at [info]ds_seekritsanta was The Best Parts of Lonely, for [info]threequarters.

It was kind of murder to write, which is weird considering it's such a fluffy little thing. I owe a debt of gratitude to [info]gurrier for providing a last minute beta on the first draft of this; any mistakes that remain are totally my fault, because there wasn't time to even ask if she would look at it again.

Thanks also to [info]aerye, who's ultimately responsible for the fact that we have FORTY-SEVEN new stories to read right now. You're a goddess, dude--and much patienter than I could ever be.

* ETA: I stole the title of this story from The Weakerthans' song "Left and Leaving". Um...thanks, Weakerthans!

That was, without question, my favorite story! I was tellling [info]sageness last night that that story should be an example to aspiring writers on how to do sexual tension the right way. It was incredible. Thanks for sharing it.

Awww, thank you! You're way too nice, but I'm very glad that you liked it. :)

Ditto. I was looking forward to seeing who wrote that one! It was the first one I read, too (drawn in by the title), which set the bar rather high.

Aw, yay! I'm so glad you liked it. :)

(The title is a lyric from a song I like by The Weakerthans, btw. Which I guess I shoud probably put in the post...)

Hee! I loved that story. (I thought it was possible you wrote that one. Or mine. But I don't think I'm very good at the guessing game.)

Aw, thanks! I usually suck at the guessing game, too--most of my guesses this year were wrong like wrong things. (I was sure I knew who'd written the "Things To Do In Juniper" one, but no! It is a mystery! *g*)

Thank you! I'm glad you thought so. :)

(Thanks for the [info]sga_santa recs you've put up, too. I haven't even started on those stories yet, but I've bookmarked your posts to start out from.)

I've been holding back on commenting on it until the reveal! I think it's definitely stronger for the changes you made. I like all the little added details about the case, the phonecall, Ray's mom - his cousin Darlene! It's such a mom conversation - the ride back from the airport. Yay you!

Thank *god* I was able to make those changes, because although I'm still not happy with it, the story I ended up with is certainly better than the one I had at first. *g*

(Thanks again for reading that for me, by the way!)

::g:: The best part of the reveal is that I get to tell people how wonderful their stories are--and yours is wonderful! I think I started holding my breath during the ride home from the airport and didn't let go until the end--just marvelous!

I've read through the comments list twice over at LJ, now, because I was dead sure i posted a commment on this already - I *loved* this! But my last comment must've gotten lost in the mail or I've gone selectively blind, or something. Anyway, long story short: This is amazing. Loved it lots.

Thanks so much! I like getting comments whenever anybody wants to leave them, so no worries. I'm glad you liked it. :)

I'm still working my way through the [info]ds_seekritsanta stuff that I downloaded to my palm so coming back rather belatedly with comments.

This was definitely one of my favorite stories from this year's batch. I love how the emotional shifting of their relationship is all implied in seemingly innocuous conversations and actions rather than said outright. The way they don't need some long relationship discussion, how they just pick up each others cues and change.

Thanks very much! The last story I wrote had the two of them not communicating well at all, so I thought it might be nice to write one where the communication was as easy and unspoken as it was sometimes in the show. I'm glad that came through. :)

This was lovely.

(Here by way of Polyamourous Recs. I've never even seen the show, actually, though I hear good things about it.)

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. :)

(And you totally should see the show--it's funny and smart and very, very gay. Well worth the time-investment.)

Man, this was fun. Loved your Ray - what a quirky, weird little woobie he is. And the stuff with Fraser was teh hot. Thanks for posting!

(I've just got into reading DS fic - or indeed any fic at all - hence my ridiculously late comment.)

Oh, this is gorgeous - the point at the airport which it shifted from two unsettled friends to two men who knew about each other and then the sexual tension just suffused the whole thing - it was just lovely, and so believeable.

And Chicken Dinners Of The Past? *sniggers helplessly*

This is an evil little story, which doesn't explain why it makes me beam as hard as it does.

Drat! This ended up in the wrong place -- I meant to comment on Minutiae and I'm not sure how the wires got crossed.

Oh, this was delightful! I love that they both know and they're dancing around it and...it's HOT, too. Whoo.
